towards the cost of constructing the necessary works.

(n). The Purchaser to contribute, on demand, the sum

of $8,000 towards the construction of a road which shall

terminate on the 500 contour at such point, at or near the

boundary of the area, as the Director of Public Works may

determine. Buch road to be constructed in continuation of

the proposed road to the westward of Inland Lot 1947, to

have a width of 10 feet and an average gradient of about

1 in 10.

(1). Facilities to be granted to the Purchaser for the construction of a tramway connecting the area with the Hongkong Tramway Company's system, provided that no expense shall be thereby entailed upon the Government and that the provisions of the Tramway Ordinance (No. 10 of 1902) and of any amending Ordinance shall, in the first instance, be

complied with.

(1). The exact boundaries of the area to be determined before the issue of the Crown Lease, and Premium and Crown rent to be then adjusted in accordance with the area and rates at which such area was sold.

(x). The Purchaser to notify the Superintendent, Botanical and Forestry Department, in the event of his requiring the removal of any trees from the area which may interfere with building operations or the construction of roads. Such trees shall be removed by the Superintendent,

Botanical and Forestry Department.

(1). The Government shall construct and maintain at Government expense such nullahs and channels as may be considered necessary by the Goverment for the proper drainage of Crown Land adjoining the area, but subject nevertheless to the proviso that when the sum expended by
